How to Prepare for Your Telehealth Session
Telehealth allows you to meet with your therapist through a secure video platform using your computer, tablet, or smartphone. It’s a convenient way to continue therapy from home or another private space without commuting.
What You’ll Need
A computer, tablet, or smartphone with a camera and microphone
A stable internet connection (Wi-Fi or wired Ethernet preferred)
The Telehealth by SimplePractice app if using a phone or tablet (iOS or Android)
How to Join Your Appointment
About 10 minutes before your session, you’ll receive an email or text reminder with your unique video link.
Click the link, and it will take you directly to your secure video session.
If you’re using a smartphone or tablet, open the link in the SimplePractice telehealth app.
If the therapist hasn’t joined yet, just stay on the screen — they’ll be with you shortly.
Tips for the Best Experience
Choose a quiet, private space where you feel comfortable speaking openly
Use headphones if privacy is a concern
Close other apps or browser tabs to improve audio/video quality
Consider turning on Do Not Disturb on your device
Join a minute or two early so you can adjust your audio or video if needed
Privacy & Security
Telehealth sessions are confidential and HIPAA-compliant
A secure, temporary audio-based transcription tool may be used during telehealth sessions with your consent, and you may opt out at any time.
Please ensure no one else can overhear your session unless you’ve agreed to involve them
If You Have Technical Issues
If you don’t receive your link or have trouble joining, please contact your provider
