Jenny Matthews, LMFT

Anxiety & OCD Therapist

You might look successful and put-together on the outside while anxiety, intrusive thoughts, or constant “what ifs” take up far more space in your life than anyone realizes.

Maybe you’re caught in overthinking, avoiding things you used to enjoy, or constantly trying to prevent something bad from happening. You know anxiety is getting in the way, but knowing that hasn’t made it any easier to stop.

I specialize in helping adults with anxiety, OCD, phobias, emetophobia, and fear of flying break out of patterns that keep them stuck and start responding differently to fear and uncertainty.

You don’t have to wait until the anxiety is gone to get your life back.

My Approach to Anxiety & OCD Therapy

In our work together, I’ll help you understand the patterns that are keeping anxiety and OCD stuck—and learn new ways of responding to thoughts, feelings, and uncertainty. My approach draws from evidence-based treatments including CBT, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT), depending on what you’re struggling with and what will be most helpful.

I believe real change happens in the present, not just by digging into the past. While understanding where your struggles began can be helpful, my focus is on how your current patterns of thinking and behaving may be keeping you stuck—and what you can start doing differently.

I’m the kind of therapist who gives homework because real growth happens between sessions. Change doesn’t happen in just one hour a week; it’s what you do with the rest of your time that makes the difference. I’ll provide guidance, tools, and support, but the real work happens when you put what we’re doing into practice in your everyday life.

Jenny is such an asset to the mental health community. She has an approachable demeanor, the ability to speak effectively with clients and their families, and extensive experience as a therapist. Her passion for anxiety disorders and OCD in particular means that she brings a wealth of education and experience. I know when I share clients with her they are in good hands, and I would recommend her to anyone who is struggling to live their best life because of anxiety.

I would highly recommend Jenny to anyone searching for a therapist who is uniquely trained in working with OCD and anxiety related disorders. Not only is she incredibly skilled, but also so kind, caring, and easy to connect with!
